LiSA's Beauty & Wellness Routine | Skincare, Makeup, Hair & Fitness

OBARASOTARO

Vibrant pink hair, sharply winged cat-eye eyeliner, and a powerful voice that electrifies an entire concert venue. Japanese singer LiSA captivates fans not only with her music but also with her distinctive fashion, expressive makeup, and energetic live performances.

Born on June 24, 1987, in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, LiSA first attracted attention in 2010 when she provided vocals for the fictional band Girls Dead Monster in the anime Angel Beats!. She made her solo debut in April 2011 with the mini-album Letters to U.

Her best-known songs include "oath sign" from Fate/Zero, "crossing field" from Sword Art Online, and "Gurenge" and "Homura" from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. She made her first appearance on NHK's prestigious Kohaku Uta Gassen music program in 2019 and received the Japan Record Award for "Homura" in 2020. Today, her music is loved by fans across Japan and around the world.

In 2025, LiSA performed "Zankoku na Yoru ni Kagayake" for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle. In 2026, she celebrated the 15th anniversary of her solo debut and released her seventh original album, LACE UP.

But what beauty routines and wellness habits are part of the life behind her spectacular performances?

Her daily habits include morning and evening sheet masks, careful makeup removal, stage makeup chosen with perspiration in mind, monthly hair coloring, and years of Pilates and kickboxing. She has also discussed warm lemon water, kombucha, vitamin supplements, enzyme baths, and tongue exercises before singing.

Although she appears confident onstage, LiSA has described herself as someone who gets nervous easily. For her, kickboxing before a concert is also a way of preparing mentally. Away from the stage, she enjoys watching several movies in a day, eating her favorite foods, and taking her dog for walks.

Drawing on LiSA's interviews and publicly available information from 2014 through 2026, this comprehensive guide explores her skincare, favorite beauty products, hair care, exercise, diet, supplements, sleep, bathing, and relaxation habits. We also look at her relationship with her hairstylist mother, her childhood experience in Okinawa, marriage and motherhood, and the changing outlook that comes with years of experience.

1. LiSA's Skincare Routine: Morning and Evening Face Masks and Her Favorite Cleanser

How MEGUMI's Beauty Book Inspired Her Daily Sheet Mask Habit

In a May 2024 interview with Japanese beauty magazine VOCE, LiSA explained that she prefers to approach beauty in a way that feels manageable and enjoyable.

Rather than turning skincare into another obligation, she values finding routines that fit naturally into her lifestyle and that she can enjoy maintaining.

One habit she adopted was using a facial sheet mask every day.

Her inspiration came from Kirei wa Kore de Tsukureru, a beauty book by Japanese actress and beauty personality MEGUMI. After reading it, LiSA became interested in incorporating sheet masks into her everyday skincare routine.

In 2024, she explained that she generally chose affordable masks for everyday use while occasionally treating herself to something more luxurious before photoshoots or special occasions.

LiSA said that, as she continued using face masks, she personally noticed differences in the appearance of her skin, including its glow and brightness. Enjoying the time she spends caring for her skin seems to be an important part of the routine.

In a July 2025 interview with MAQUIA, she revealed that she had incorporated face masks into both her morning and evening routines.

One of her favorites was LuLuLun Precious RED (Moist), a sheet mask recognizable by its red packaging and designed for convenient everyday use.

Given her elaborate stage makeup, it might be easy to imagine that LiSA follows an extravagant skincare regimen involving numerous luxury products. However, she has described her everyday routine as surprisingly simple.

Her approach is to choose products she genuinely likes and enjoy using them consistently at her own pace.

FANCL Cleansing Oil and Sun Protection for Summer Performances

Alongside face masks, LiSA places importance on thoroughly removing her makeup.

In her 2024 VOCE interview, she named FANCL Mild Cleansing Oil as one of her favorite skincare products.

Her concert makeup frequently includes dramatic eyeliner and waterproof mascara. According to LiSA, she likes how the cleansing oil feels when removing heavier makeup and appreciates the sensation after washing her face.

She also mentioned incorporating cleansing oil into her routine on days when she wears little or no makeup.

In private, LiSA often enjoys spending time without makeup. During a 2025 interview, she explained that because she frequently stays at home, her everyday makeup and sun-protection routines tend to be minimal.

Summer performances, however, call for a different approach.

In 2024, she introduced two products she liked for outdoor concerts and summer stage makeup: ANESSA Perfect UV Skincare Gel NA and SHISEIDO Sun Care BB For Sports QD.

She appreciates these products because, in her experience, they help her maintain the appearance of her makeup while moving energetically and perspiring during performances.

At home, she enjoys a natural, relaxed look. Onstage, she chooses products according to the environment and demands of the performance. Her beauty routine changes with the occasion.

LiSA Trivia #1: The Plush Toy Pouches in Her Bag

During a 2024 appearance on Hot Pepper Beauty TV, LiSA showed viewers what she carries in her bag. She revealed that she uses adorable plush toy pouches to organize small belongings. She keeps several similar pouches at home and uses them to carry items such as hair ties and lip products. It is a charming contrast to her powerful stage persona.

2. LiSA's Makeup Routine and Favorite Cosmetics: Red Eye Makeup and International Beauty Brands

Makeup Helps Her Switch Into Her Onstage Persona

For LiSA, applying makeup is an important part of preparing herself mentally for the stage.

In a June 2024 interview with VOCE, she explained that putting on makeup helps her feel as though she is switching into her identity as the artist LiSA.

Professional makeup artists often handle her look for photoshoots and television appearances, but she frequently does her own makeup for concerts.

Eyeliner is particularly important to her. Even when a professional is responsible for the rest of her makeup, she sometimes asks to draw the eyeliner herself.

Her favorite liquid eyeliner brands include Heroine Make and D-UP. She often chooses dark brown or burgundy shades and creates a pronounced wing at the outer corner of each eye.

For pencil eyeliner, she likes CANMAKE Creamy Touch Liner. She uses different techniques depending on whether she wants a precise line or a softly blended finish.

The process of defining her eyes with her own hands has become part of the transition from everyday life to the excitement of performing.

Drag Queen-Inspired Cat Eyes and Her Favorite Japanese Cosmetics

In a 2024 VOCE self-makeup feature, LiSA demonstrated her signature red eye makeup.

Her technique involves drawing the eyeliner slightly downward at the outer corner before extending it into an upward wing, creating a distinctive cat-eye shape.

She has also spoken about her admiration for the glamorous makeup worn by drag queens. Bold eyeliner, vivid colors, shimmer, pearls, and glitter all inspire her expressive stage looks.

For eyeshadow, she likes red-toned shades from ADDICTION. When new colors are released, she sometimes visits department stores to try them and enjoys combining her favorites into a personalized palette.

Red and pink are closely connected to her hairstyles, costumes, and musical identity. She enjoys experimenting with different combinations to complement the atmosphere of each performance.

Her cosmetic preferences also span a wide range of price points.

During a 2024 interview, she mentioned frequently using products from NARS and ADDICTION, while Helena Rubinstein was among her favorite mascara brands.

At the same time, she enjoys affordable Japanese cosmetics such as CANMAKE. Color payoff, ease of application, and the finished look matter more to her than a brand's price category.

She has also named Clé de Peau Beauté among the brands she frequently uses for base makeup. Because she moves and sweats extensively during concerts, she pays close attention to how her base makeup works with her eye makeup.

By drawing her own eyeliner while sometimes relying on professional expertise for other aspects of her makeup, LiSA combines her personal artistic instincts with the skills of the people around her.

Her Love of KimChi Chic Beauty and FENTY BEAUTY

Discovering cosmetics abroad is another of LiSA's favorite activities.

When traveling internationally, she enjoys visiting Sephora and local drugstores to explore colors and brands that are harder to find in Japan.

One brand she highlighted in a 2024 VOCE interview was KimChi Chic Beauty, founded by drag queen Kim Chi.

The featured product was the KIMCHI X TRIXIE BFF4EVR: MVPALETTE – 01 SUPERSTAR, a makeup palette with a teddy bear-inspired design containing eye and cheek colors.

LiSA said she loved both the playful packaging and its vibrant color payoff.

Another favorite is FENTY BEAUTY, the beauty brand created by singer Rihanna. The same interview featured the FLYPENCIL LONGWEAR PENCIL EYELINER in the shade Cherry Punk.

She appreciates the brand's striking colors and glitter, as well as the extensive range of products created with different skin tones in mind.

Whether she is shopping for Japanese cosmetics or discovering international brands, LiSA chooses products according to the colors and creative possibilities that appeal to her. Makeup is another form of self-expression, much like music.

LiSA Trivia #2: Her Beauty Advice to Her Younger Self

In a 2024 interview, LiSA was asked what beauty advice she would give her younger self. Looking back at her early makeup styles, she said she might have preferred slightly fuller eyebrows. Even as her makeup preferences change over the years, she seems to enjoy reflecting on the trends and looks she once loved.

3. LiSA's Pink Hair and Hair Care: Monthly Salon Visits and Color Maintenance

Her Childhood Love of Colorful Hair and the Story Behind Her Pink Look

LiSA's vivid pink hair is one of her most recognizable features. Its origins can be traced back to her early interest in beauty and fashion.

During a 2024 appearance on Hot Pepper Beauty TV, she revealed that she used hair chalk to add colorful streaks to her hair as a child.

In high school, she became interested in gyaru fashion. During a summer vacation, she bleached her hair for the first time and experimented with hair extensions.

Later, as her music career developed, the hair colors of anime characters she had voiced through singing and the pink glow sticks used by fans at her concerts contributed to pink becoming her signature color.

She had already admired vivid hair colors such as pink and orange. Over time, her personal preferences and the connection she shared with fans came together in the hairstyle people recognize today.

She also pays attention to different shades of pink, choosing tones that complement the mood of her costumes and songs.

Monthly Salon Appointments and Custom Color Butter at Home

In 2024, LiSA explained that she visited a hair salon approximately once a month to maintain her colorful hairstyle.

Her appointments included bleaching newly grown roots, applying color, and receiving conditioning treatments. At home, she also used a custom-blended color butter prepared by her hairstylist, refreshing the shade whenever she noticed it fading.

After showering, she carefully dries her hair and uses leave-in hair treatments as part of her regular routine.

In the same interview, she revealed that she spent approximately 40,000 yen per month on salon visits, shampoo, and hair care products at the time.

Maintaining her distinctive hair color reflects both her dedication as a performer and her enjoyment of the style she loves.

She is equally particular about her bangs.

According to LiSA, even a difference of around one millimeter can bother her. She revealed that her younger sister had trimmed her bangs on the very day of a 2024 interview.

Because she frequently asks for advice about her fringe, her sister has even jokingly suggested that they have discussed her bangs quite enough.

Bold hair color and meticulous attention to tiny details exist side by side in LiSA's distinctive personal style.

LiSA Trivia #3: Seven Costumes in a Single Concert

LiSA revealed that she wore as many as seven different costumes during a single performance on her 2024 arena tour. Every outfit had to be designed with quick changes in mind, including changes made during brief moments of darkness onstage. Beyond colors and silhouettes, she paid attention to comfort, movement, and how easily she could sing in each outfit.

4. Pilates and Kickboxing: LiSA's Fitness Routine and How She Prepares for Stage Nerves

Years of Exercise and an Unexpected Reason for Kickboxing

Regular exercise is a major part of LiSA's wellness routine.

In a 2024 VOCE interview, she said she attended Pilates classes twice a week and kickboxing sessions once a week.

By the time of her 2025 MAQUIA interview, she was doing both activities twice weekly. At that point, she had practiced Pilates for approximately six years and kickboxing for around seven to eight years.

LiSA has explained that she sometimes finds singing more comfortable after exercising. She pays attention to subtle sensations in her body, particularly her breathing and how her abdomen feels.

She also loves food and occasionally eats enough to surprise those around her. In 2024, she spoke about wanting to enjoy her favorite meals while continuing to be physically active.

There is another, more unexpected reason why kickboxing is important to her.

In a 2024 interview with GIANNA, LiSA admitted that she tends to get nervous before performing.

At music festivals and other events, she may have only about 30 minutes onstage. Sometimes, by the time she feels fully comfortable, her performance is already coming to an end.

To prepare, she sometimes practices kickboxing before taking the stage, raising her heart rate through physical activity.

She described feeling as though she had already completed one demanding task, making it easier for her personally to approach the first song with a calmer mindset.

Although she projects tremendous confidence during concerts, LiSA understands her own nervousness and has developed a preparation routine that works for her. Physical activity and mental preparation are closely connected in her life as a performer.

Exercise Bike, Foam Roller, and Tongue Movements Before Singing

LiSA also finds ways to stay active at home.

In her 2024 VOCE interview, she mentioned riding an exercise bike at home before concerts.

Her live performances can involve singing more than 20 songs while moving continuously across the stage. Alongside her regular classes, home exercise is another element of her preparation.

After strenuous activity, she sometimes uses a foam roller to work on areas of her body that feel tight. She has said that these sessions can last as long as two hours.

She also incorporates stretching after concerts and bathing.

One of her more unusual habits is an exercise she calls shitama-washi, or tongue rotation.

Originally part of her preparation before singing, the movement involves keeping her mouth closed while moving her tongue in a large circular motion.

LiSA has said that, while continuing this habit, she personally noticed changes in the appearance of her face.

In a 2024 interview, she even shared an anecdote about eating plenty of sukiyaki the previous evening and doing her tongue rotations the next morning.

What began as a singing preparation exercise also became part of her personal interest in caring for her appearance.

When speaking to listeners interested in becoming more active, LiSA has also suggested starting with accessible activities such as walking or cycling for about 15 minutes.

While her concerts demand an extraordinary amount of energy, she also values everyday movement that fits an individual's pace.

LiSA Trivia #4: Her Longstanding Love of Photography

In a 2024 feature exploring the contents of her bag, LiSA named a camera as one of her most treasured possessions. Before her major debut, she challenged herself to update her blog every day, so she began carrying a camera to capture moments worth sharing. Photography has remained one of the ways she enjoys documenting everyday life.

5. LiSA's Concert-Day Wellness Routine: Vocal Warm-Ups, Throat Care, and Changing Priorities

An 8:30 AM Arrival and Time Alone Before the Show

LiSA's concert-day schedule reveals just how seriously she approaches live performances.

During an earlier conversation with Japanese enka singer Fuyumi Sakamoto, she explained that she could arrive at a concert venue as early as 8:30 AM.

Her preparations included approximately 90 minutes of massage, kickboxing to get her body moving, and a bath during which she would gently warm up her voice.

She would then eat while getting her hair and makeup done, review footage of the previous day's performance, and write down areas she wanted to improve.

Band meetings, vocal training, and rehearsals followed before the concert began.

LiSA has also described how parts of her schedule are planned in intervals as short as five minutes.

She makes room for quiet time alone before going onstage, balancing collaborative preparations with moments when she can focus privately.

Applying her signature eyeliner is another element of this preparation. By the time the audience sees her step onto the stage, hours of careful work have already taken place.

How Her First Budokan Concert Changed Her Relationship With Her Voice and Fans

A daily habit LiSA values is gently warming up her voice in the bath in the morning.

She has described spending approximately ten minutes making light vocal sounds while checking how her voice feels that day.

Behind her attention to vocal condition lies an important experience from her first concert at the Nippon Budokan arena in Tokyo.

During that performance, she experienced difficulty singing as she had hoped and was deeply frustrated.

At the time, she felt tremendous pressure to meet fans' expectations and wanted to show them a confident, impressive version of herself.

However, hearing fans cheer for her and support her throughout the concert helped her understand that audiences could embrace her vulnerable moments too.

The experience changed the way she thought about live music. Rather than focusing only on presenting an idealized version of herself, she began to value creating performances together with her audience.

In a conversation with Fuyumi Sakamoto, LiSA also spoke about continuing to explore softer vocal expressions in her middle register, alongside the powerful high notes for which she is known.

Songs such as "Homura" have given her opportunities to explore more delicate emotional expression.

Even a short morning vocal warm-up reflects her commitment to understanding her voice and learning from her experiences as a singer.

Throat Care During Sleep and Learning to Rely on Others

Because singing is central to her career, LiSA also pays attention to her throat while resting.

During a 2024 appearance on Hot Pepper Beauty TV, she mentioned carrying tape designed to be placed over the mouth during sleep.

She explained that she sometimes becomes aware of throat discomfort or changes in how she feels during the night, making her especially conscious of her throat.

She has also discussed wearing a face mask while sleeping because she is mindful of dryness.

These are personal habits LiSA described in interviews, rather than general recommendations. In particular, taping the mouth shut during sleep can carry risks for people with nasal congestion or breathing difficulties. Anyone concerned about nighttime breathing should seek guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.

Her approach to work and wellness has also evolved as she has grown older.

In a 2024 VOCE interview, she explained that, when she was younger, she wanted to handle virtually everything related to her music herself. As she moved through her mid-thirties, she became more aware of changes in her lifestyle and physical stamina.

LiSA has mentioned that her weight sometimes fluctuated by around three kilograms during a single demanding concert. The figure reflects her own experience of temporary weight changes associated with intensive performances.

Over time, she has also learned to trust other people and delegate responsibilities.

Among the senior artists she admires is Japanese singer Kumi Koda.

Having been a fan of Koda for years, LiSA has spoken about seeking her advice on changes that come with age, music-related work, and aspects of her private life.

By learning from experienced artists and accepting support from those around her, LiSA continues to develop a more flexible approach to maintaining her career over the long term.

LiSA Trivia #5: The Women Whose Presence Inspires Her

LiSA admires women who continue to express their individuality as they gain experience and grow older. In interviews, she has spoken about being inspired by the atmosphere people create when meeting others and the kindness and consideration they show through their behavior. For her, personal charm extends well beyond appearances and stage presence.

6. LiSA's Diet and Wellness Habits: Lemon Water, Kombucha, Supplements, and Tea

Warm Lemon Water, Black Vinegar, and Earl Grey Tea Through the Years

LiSA has her own preferences when it comes to everyday drinks.

In a 2024 VOCE interview, she explained that she begins her morning by heating water and adding approximately five or six drops of lemon juice.

Afterward, she sometimes drinks an enzyme beverage or kombucha.

Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage. Despite its Japanese-sounding name, it is different from kombu-cha, the Japanese drink made from kelp.

Her interest in different drinks dates back many years.

In a 2014 interview, she spoke about being particularly fond of black vinegar. At the time, she sometimes bought it at convenience stores and drank it mixed with soy milk every day.

In a 2023 international interview, she said she would choose tea over coffee and enjoyed drinking tea at home. Earl Grey was one of her favorites.

Earl Grey is a fragrant tea flavored with bergamot. Even for a singer who performs around the world, enjoying a familiar cup of tea at home is part of everyday life.

Black vinegar with soy milk in 2014, Earl Grey in 2023, and warm lemon water and kombucha in 2024: her interviews reveal different beverage preferences at different stages of her life.

Vitamin C, Vitamin D, NMN, and Her Interest in Supplements

LiSA has also spoken openly about her interest in dietary supplements.

In her 2024 VOCE interview, she mentioned taking vitamin C, vitamin D, and NMN at the time.

Vitamins C and D are nutrients that can also be obtained through the diet. NMN stands for nicotinamide mononucleotide.

The interview shows that LiSA was interested in incorporating supplements into her broader wellness routine, alongside food and exercise.

The brands and amounts she used were not specified in the interview. Research involving NMN in humans is also ongoing, so this information is presented as a description of LiSA's publicly discussed habits rather than as a recommendation to take a particular supplement.

From skincare and exercise to foods and drinks, she enjoys exploring different aspects of beauty and wellness while choosing what appeals to her personally.

Japanese Home Cooking, Homemade Gyoza, and Meals Around Concerts

Although LiSA loves eating, traditional Japanese home-style food holds a special place in her heart.

In a 2025 MAQUIA interview, she said that a meal of rice, miso soup, pickled plums, and natto made her particularly happy.

Because she frequently travels internationally for work, familiar Japanese flavors remain important to her.

In a 2024 interview, she also revealed that she had recently become enthusiastic about Chinese cuisine.

On the morning of that interview, she had reportedly woken up at 5 AM to make homemade gyoza dumplings.

She originally planned to make them the previous evening, but fell asleep after a tiring day. Since she expected to return home late again, she decided to prepare them early in the morning instead.

She has also talked about going out for ramen in Yokohama after finishing the second night of a two-day concert run.

After the first performance, she focused on resting ahead of the following day. Once the second concert was complete, she could enjoy a favorite meal at her leisure.

LiSA has a sweet tooth too.

In an international interview, she discussed her fondness for Japanese sweets made with sweet red bean paste. Given a choice between cake and anmitsu, she would choose anmitsu. She also likes strawberry-flavored doughnuts.

Another favorite she discovered overseas is Nutella, the chocolate-hazelnut spread.

In 2026, she became involved in promotional activities as a Nutella ambassador, and her song "SWEET MAGIC" was included on the album LACE UP.

When traveling overseas, she sometimes misses Japanese rice and has mentioned ordering fried rice from the American Chinese restaurant chain Panda Express.

Her love of food is balanced by careful consideration of when she eats on performance days.

In a 2018 interview, she described avoiding meals for approximately three hours before singing and craving meat after concerts.

In 2020, she mentioned choosing easily eaten foods such as bananas before performances. After a show, she sometimes felt so exhausted that eating could be difficult even when she wanted food.

Because she pays close attention to how her abdomen feels while singing, LiSA considers both the timing and amount of food she eats on concert days.

In everyday life, she enjoys her favorite meals. Before going onstage, she adjusts her eating schedule according to her own experience as a singer.

LiSA Trivia #6: Her Collection of Minions Figures

In a 2023 international interview, LiSA named the Minions among her favorite characters and revealed that she had collected numerous Minions figures at home. Behind the glamorous image of a rock singer is someone who enjoys surrounding herself with playful and adorable characters.

7. Enzyme Baths, Relaxation, and Stress Management: How LiSA Enjoys Her Time Off

Enzyme Baths Are One of Her Favorite Ways to Unwind

Enzyme bathing is one of LiSA's favorite relaxation activities.

In a 2024 VOCE interview, she said that when her schedule allowed, she visited an enzyme bath facility approximately two or three times per week.

Japanese enzyme baths typically use heat generated by the fermentation of materials such as rice bran or sawdust.

During a 2025 interview with sweet web, LiSA said she typically spent around 15 to 20 minutes in an enzyme bath and enjoyed perspiring while relaxing in the warm surroundings.

For her, it is an enjoyable way to take a short break and shift her focus.

She has even visited an enzyme bath facility before singing on television, incorporating time in a warm environment into her personal preparation routine.

In a 2025 MAQUIA interview, she joked that she liked enzyme baths so much she wished she could visit every morning.

Pilates and kickboxing provide opportunities for vigorous movement, while enzyme baths offer an entirely different kind of experience. LiSA has found activities she enjoys for both active days and quieter moments.

Crying, Eating, Sleeping, Watching Movies, and Walking Her Dog

Although LiSA meticulously plans her concert preparations, the ways she relaxes can be surprisingly relatable.

In a 2015 interview, she mentioned crying freely, enjoying favorite foods, and getting plenty of sleep as ways she liked to release stress.

Enjoying a good meal and giving herself time to sleep helped her feel ready to approach the next day with renewed enthusiasm.

At that time, she also enjoyed staying home to watch videos of international artists or listen to music.

In a 2023 international interview, she described spending time in a cool room watching movies, sometimes getting through as many as five films in a day.

Her public life may involve performing before thousands of fans, but quieter days spent enjoying entertainment at home are equally meaningful to her.

In a 2025 interview with sweet web, she was asked what she would do if she had an entire summer day off.

Her ideal schedule included visiting an enzyme bath, eating delicious food, going shopping, walking her dog, and enjoying another favorite meal.

She also mentioned wanting to eat seasonal fruit during summer.

LiSA describes herself as rather impatient and tends to make plans even on her days off. Just as she organizes her concert preparations carefully, she seems to enjoy filling her free time with activities she loves.

Watching other artists perform is another favorite pastime. She has attended a concert by Fuyumi Sakamoto with her mother and enjoys music from a wide range of genres, including artists such as Lady Gaga and Norah Jones.

Music, food, shopping, films, and time with family and her dog all have a place in LiSA's life away from the stage.

LiSA Trivia #7: Summer Barbecues With Her Mother

In a 2025 interview with sweet web, LiSA recalled warm memories of summer in Gifu. Her mother loved rivers and outdoor barbecues, and she would enthusiastically prepare family barbecues in their garden. It is a glimpse into the happy summer moments LiSA remembers from childhood.

8. LiSA's Family, Marriage, and Outlook on Life: From Childhood to Motherhood

Her Hairstylist Mother, Inspiration From SPEED, and Moving to Okinawa at 11

LiSA grew up in Seki, Gifu Prefecture, Japan.

Her mother worked as a hairstylist, and LiSA developed an interest in hairstyles and fashion from an early age.

At home, she was an energetic child who loved singing and dancing. Around unfamiliar people, however, she could be so shy that she would hide behind her mother.

Seeing how much her daughter enjoyed singing, her mother enrolled her in musical theater lessons. The experience helped develop LiSA's growing passion for performing.

As an elementary school student, LiSA became a devoted fan of the Japanese girl group SPEED.

Seeing performers close to her own age sing and dance professionally inspired her to study music and dance more seriously.

At just 11 years old, she left home to stay with a host family in Okinawa while attending lessons.

Although she was still in elementary school, she has looked back positively on the experience because she was so absorbed in pursuing something she loved.

The people she met in Okinawa welcomed her warmly, and the sea near her school became a treasured memory. Coming from landlocked Gifu Prefecture, she found Okinawa's coastal scenery particularly exciting.

Learning to enter unfamiliar environments and pursue her ambitions at such a young age helped shape the determined artist she would become.

Moving to Tokyo at 21 and Following Her Musical Dream

After performing with bands in her hometown, LiSA decided to move to Tokyo at the age of 21.

Her mother was understandably concerned and initially opposed the move, but LiSA remained determined to pursue music.

According to LiSA, she told her mother about her departure only the day before leaving.

Her first home in Tokyo was an apartment in Takadanobaba. Living independently for the first time brought unexpected challenges, including discovering that electricity required arrangements with the power company.

She worked part-time at a drugstore while continuing her music activities and gaining experience performing at live music venues.

In 2010, her vocals for Angel Beats! brought her wider attention, followed by her solo debut the next year. She gradually expanded her activities from stages across Japan to international performances.

Behind the spectacular concerts she performs today are years of persistence, part-time work, musical experimentation, and determination.

Marriage in 2020, Her First Child in 2023, and Her 15th Anniversary

On January 22, 2020, LiSA announced her marriage to Japanese voice actor and musician Tatsuhisa Suzuki.

In her announcement, she described him as someone who provided strength and support when she experienced uncertainty or setbacks.

On April 25, 2023, she publicly announced the birth of her first child.

In her message, she also shared her enthusiasm for continuing to deliver music with a fresh outlook.

From pursuing her childhood dreams to experiencing major changes in her family life, LiSA has continued to build her career as a singer.

In 2026, she celebrated 15 years since her solo debut and released LACE UP.

The album title also evokes the image of tying the laces of the boots she has worn onstage over the years.

It reflects a connection between the music, people, and experiences that have shaped her journey, as well as the anticipation of stepping toward new challenges.

In recent interviews, LiSA has spoken about watching longtime fans grow older, get married, and become parents themselves.

At the same time, series such as Demon Slayer have brought younger generations to her music, and some families now attend her concerts together.

She also feels tremendous joy when international fans sing along with her Japanese-language songs.

A girl who traveled to Okinawa at 11 and moved to Tokyo at 21 has grown into an artist who performs for audiences around the world. Throughout that journey, her love of music has remained at the center of her life.

LiSA Trivia #8: She Once Dreamed of Becoming Belle From Beauty and the Beast

In an international interview, LiSA recalled admiring Belle from Disney's Beauty and the Beast as a child. Rather than simply wanting to provide the character's singing voice, she dreamed of becoming Belle herself. It is a romantic childhood memory that reveals another side of the powerful rock singer.

Conclusion: Three Ideas Behind LiSA's Approach to Beauty and Wellness

Looking across LiSA's beauty routines and wellness habits, three themes stand out: enjoying what she loves, preparing carefully for her work as a singer, and adapting her lifestyle as she gains experience.

In beauty, she chooses face masks and cosmetics according to her personal preferences and enjoys expressing herself through bold makeup and colorful hair. In her diet, she makes room for familiar Japanese meals, tea, sweets, and other favorite foods.

As a performer, she has spent years practicing Pilates and kickboxing, warming up her voice in the morning, and preparing meticulously before concerts. She understands her own tendency to feel nervous and has developed a personal approach to getting ready for the stage.

With experience, she has also come to appreciate the value of resting and accepting support from people she trusts.

In 2026, LiSA marked 15 years since her solo debut in the music world she had admired since childhood. Her ability to enjoy what she loves while continuing to work toward her goals is part of the individuality and energy that make her so compelling.
